Uh-oh ... |

Went to Mexican Saturday with Hector and ended up getting into a convo -- in Spanish -- with a couple of the people working there. Was cool ... they thought I was "Colombiano, o Boliviano", which kind of amused. They found it funny when I responded with "Soy gringito" in this rather amused voice, so ... well, anyway, they definitely remembered me today. Went back with Mike and Adam. Adam ordered first and she tried to speak to him in Spanish; he couldn't understand so she just refused to speak in English, but took his order anyway.
I tried to order and she responded with, "No hablo ingles." "Tienes chistes." So I was required to order -- and carry on a conversation -- in Spanish. Fluent I ain't, but I seemed to get my point across. My best friend of three years being Mexican helped my accent a lot, and my vocab ... so I still remember most of it.
Now I'm being called "the ruiner of worlds" because they speak to us in Spanish. Heh. Not fair using a phrase I patented on me.
Besides, it's not my fault my friends don't speak Spanish. Right?
